Rosalin Mae McIntosh Burns was born on March 4, 1933 in Sidney, Nebraska, to Francis Pauline McIntosh and McKinley Joseph McIntosh, the third in a family of six girls. Rosalin graduated from St. Patrick’s High School (’51); attended Nurses Training at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska; and continued her studies at Duchesne College in Omaha. She began working as a Registered Nurse in the summer of 1954, serving general medical practitioners, medical clinics, orthopedic specialists, and hospitals during her career in Sidney, NE and Wichita, KS. Rosalin married Thomas Michael Burns on February 23, 1957.
Rosalin and her ex-husband Tom, were the proud parents of three children: Peggy (and husband Phil, Deloria of Ann Arbor, MI), Betsy (and husband, Art Keeler of Helena, MT) and David (and fiancée, Shannyn Nickell and her son Nathan Nickell of Houston, TX). She was the devoted grandmother of Jackson and Lacey Deloria (Ann Arbor, MI).
Rosalin lived in Lakewood, Colorado from 1962 to 2009. She was an active member of the community with volunteer interests that included the Colorado Symphony Guild, the Mount Saint Vincent Home, the Denver Law Wives, the Sacred Heart Alumni, and various charities connected to the Catholic Church. She worked for over a decade in Lakewood, CO as a travel agent, which proved a perfect career choice, as she loved travel and the arranging of trips for others. Her own travels included trips throughout Europe, Ireland, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and Japan. One of her favorite tours, combining her love of travel and music, was an annual trip she led to the Santa Fe Opera.
She was a lover of all music, and a Colorado Symphony season ticket holder for decades. She enjoyed art, playing bridge, and ballroom dancing, which led her to become a regular member of the Elks Club.
Rosalin was preceded in death, by her parents, by a sister, Mary Jo Grote, and by her former husband, Tom.
Rosalin is survived by her children; grandchildren; sisters Kathleen Kahl (Sidney, NE), Patricia Perito (Silver Springs, MD), Jayne McIntosh (Fairfax, VA) and Barbara Conte (Washington, DC); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At Rosalin’s request she will be laid to rest outside of Denver in the spring of 2015.
For the last five years, Rosalin lived in Helena, MT. Her family would like to express gratitude for the excellent care provided by Sherri and Aimee and the Aspen Garden staff. In addition, the family is indebted to Wendy Olson for her friendship, companionship and compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Golden Colorado later this summer. Contributions in Rosalin’s memory may be made to: Mt. Saint Vincent 4159 Lowell Blvd Denver, CO 80211 (303) 458-7220 ext 346.

Joe Burman says
Dear Peggy,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the lost of your mother. Having been through this all too recently, I know how difficult it is despite witnessing her months of decline. I am sure there are so many things you’d like to say to her. As long as they say them to yourself, they have been said.

Dear Peggy,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. Having been through this all too recently, I know how difficult it is to lose a parent, even after having witnessed her decline over the last few months. I am sure there are many things you wish you could say to her, but, if you say them to yourself, they are said.
