Ruth A. Watters, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away December 12, 2010 at the age of 95. Ruth was born July 3, 1915 in Wason Flats, north of Miles City to Herman & Frieda Ullrich.
Ruth graduated from normal school and taught in rural one room schools near Broadus for several years. She married George Charles Watters August 6, 1941. They lived in Billings and Helena where they worked construction and raised four children.
Her main interests were her family and raising a huge garden and lovely flowers. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, knitting and crocheting. One of her great pleasures was decorating her home for various holidays.
After raising her children, she worked as the bookkeeper for Watters Construction which was owned and operated by George and Ruth. She was also a member of the Cathedral of St. Helena Parish.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband George; son, George Charles “Chuck” Watters; great grandson, George Harvey Radke; sisters, Esther Gali, Gertrude Schillreff, Frieda Ullrich and brother, Karl Ullrich.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Charlene (Eugene) Jonart of Cheyenne, WY, Marion (James) Woidtke of Polson, Patricia (Fred) Radke of Helena; two brothers, Richard Ullrich and Albert Ullrich; 12 grandchildren, Jerry Watters, Cindy Dallas, Kathy Jones, Michael, Douglas, Timothy and Paul Jonart, Alex and Christine Woidtke and Randy, Kenneth and Jeff Radke. She is also survived by three step grandchildren, Rick Radke, Karen Tenneson and Cindy Janicke; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
