Our beautiful wife and dearly loved mother, Thelma May Ramey Pfankuch, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2014.
Thelma was born in Medford, Oregon on December 9, 1930 to Reverend Andrew and Virginia Ramey. As a child she lived in both Oregon and Minnesota. The Oregon coast held fond memories for her and she considered Oregon her home. In 1949 she moved to St. Paul, MN, where she met Dale. They married on March 17, 1950 and would have celebrated their 64th anniversary together this year.
Thelma was a wonderful mother. She sewed our clothes, took us to endless Scout and 4H meetings, swimming lessons, and confirmation classes. She enjoyed and taught us ceramics and embroidery; and nurtured an appreciation for music and reading. She was always there for us when we needed to talk, cry, or share a joy. These last few years Thelma courageously endured her days, suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Thelma was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She will always be with us in our hearts and memories.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Virginia Ramey, and her brother Steve Ramey.
She is survived by her husband Dale, sisters Emma (Jake) Castor of Florence, OR; Betty (Bill) Stewart of Anchorage, AK; son Lynn (Ginger) Pfankuch of Helena, MT; daughters, Susan (Marlin) Sander of Helena, MT; Patricia Campbell of Lyon, IL; Barbara (Bob) Colwell of Pompano Beach FL; granddaughters, Jennifer (Leo) Hackett of Olympia, WA; Andrea Pfankuch of Benton City, WA; grandson, Joseph (Lindsey) Pfankuch of Wilmington, NC; and great-granddaughters Naomi Fry, Tabatha Montvale, and Ruth-Ann Hackett.
Memorials may be sent to the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Research Center, 1308 Meador Ave, Suite C-1, Bellingham, WA 98229.

Connie Amburn says
Mother told me yesterday of Thelma’s passing. We hold so many memories of a wonderful lady. The Arvish family was lucky to have the Phankuchs as neighbors in Orofino. So glad I was able to see your mom, dad, and brother on a couple of occasions while visiting mom and dad in Missoula. My blessings and prayers to you all.
